Former Super Eagles’ captain, Nwankwo Kanu, has tipped the team to repeat the South Africa 2013 African Nations Cup feat in Morocco next year.
Speaking in Lagos yesterday, the former Arsenal star exuded confidence that the Nigeria national team had restored its past glory, stressing that the present Super Eagles will rule the continent for a long time.
“We are back to our best. The Super Eagles have restored hope and from what I see in the team, they are going to rule Africa for a long time. Yes, we are going to Morocco and we will not only top our group but repeat what we did in South Africa. What happened in South Africa will happen again in Morocco,” he said.
On the Brazil 2014 World Cup, Kanu was not too happy with the build up to the global soccer showpiece, but believed the team would be ready.
“We have not started preparation not because we don’t have the team but for logistics. However, I believe the team would be ready,” he added.
